Customer Service Cashier/Online Order Shopper (Full-Time) ID - 2225

Must be 18

Primary Job duties include:

Answering phone calls, Handling returns and follow proper return policy guidelines, cashiering, selling stamps, cigarettes, managing lost and found, keeping track of left behind items, answering customer questions.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To perform customer checkout transactions, customer assistance or answering questions, answering store phone calls. To contribute toward ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers and a positive working environment for employees.

NATURE AND SCOPE: Emphasis in the Customer Service Cashier position is on front-end checkout procedures in all transactions, ensuring customer service for bagging of groceries in the proper manner, maintaining positive customer relations and expedient processing of all orders. This position requires register & phone operation, reading, lifting, and standing. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. Daily assignments and work direction is provided by the Front-End Manager or person in charge.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE CASHIER

  • Process customers’ orders in an accurate, efficient and prompt manner
  • Follow return policy guidelines
  • Being able to learn a POS system and operate properly
  • Obtain prices and details for items not identified by the register system
  • Use care in the handling of product
  • Ensure positive customer relations and satisfaction
  • Direct customer problems to the Front-End Manager or other office personnel as appropriate
  • Answer or refer questions and respond to requests as needed
  • Ensure proper cash handling
  • Enter proper tender per transaction (cards, gift cards, etc.)
  • Bag groceries for customers
  • Answer phone calls and direct to proper department or staff member
  • Follow Front-End security procedures
  • Follow all store and department policies and procedures
